i had awful news yesterday, my old friend Simone, who lives opposite me, her mum Elaine passed away yesterday Evening. she was far to young to die, she fought the cancer all the way, and fought well. recently things turned very quickly for the worse and she was only told a few days ago there was no more they could do. she declined the hospice for home, and arrived home, she died a few hours after coming home.
i ffeel so awful about it a cant begin to explain. me and simone where friends since the day she moved here, we must of been 6 ish .. maybe a few years either way its hard to be sure. we'd drift in and out of friendship, never through arguement just through circumstance, we'd be close for months then not speak for ages.
i feel awful for her, shes my age and i know she was so close to her mum all her life, it always stuck me how much they were like friends and i know the pain she is going through must be destroying her, it would me.
Elaine was a vibrant lady, great at listening to kids stories, cos shed gasp and be wide eyed and get everything right to make us tell the story with enthusiam. she was very beautiful, a mum who was still young in her mind and felt less distant to us than most adults. she was fun, she arranged with me and simone once a fun plan.. we were about 14 and wanted to be on TV... so we went to town and to the albert dock and did wath Richard and Judy hate most ... we stopped outside their big window and pulled tongue, continually walked back and forth and generally tried to be seen as much as possib;e... of course Elaine knew the plan and had videoed the lot :D so we got to watch it when we got back home :)
She Was a wonderful Mum, and Recently became a Granmother when Simones brother Terry had his first Child, the loss to the Family must be devastating, its so terrible. i look out my window and i can feel it coming from the house, i wish i could do something /anything to ease the pain, what what could? nothing i suppose other than time. Terry her husband will be so lost without her, the strain of her illness has showed in him, especially over the last through weeks, i send some of my strenght to him to help him through this.
we sent cards today, from us as a family to them as a family and i sent one just to simone. i wanted to say the righ thing, i didnt know what it was, i just said i was sorry for her loss (i couldnt write the 'of your mum' bit in it seemed unnecessary and i couldnt write it without crying myself, ididnt want to re comfirm the loss, dunno maybe i should of, thats bothered me alot since), i also wrote that im her for her if she needs anything at all. i am, weve not been close for a long time, but id do anything to help her if she asked, she wont though, she'll accept as a thought , but it wont be taken as a serious offer, i mean it as one though, im crying now, just thinking of her pain, i wish i could help ease it somehow, my thoughts are with her more than she knows.
I pay tribute to Elaine - You are wonderful person.
An Enornous gap is left that you filled in so many lives.
Rest in Peace, You'll live on in our memories forever
And in every memory i have of you your smiling.
